When it comes to large ensemble casts, especially those with idols, there tends to be no casual viewers. One is either a fan of the genre, and thus a fan of specific series, or one has very little interest. To my surprise, taking on Love Live! Sunshine!! season 2 has me asking far more questions that I would have suspected possible. And as such, it has increased my interest in tracking down and watching the others series. This was a surprising development.
It’s generally well known among fans of anime and Japanese culture in general that, within reason and ability, students can choose their own high schools. Not all high schools are desirable, however. Some are no longer near population centers, others have poor reputations, others have unique situations that is affecting their incoming admissions. This is precisely the problem of Uranohoshi High School in Love Live! Sunshine!!
It’s true that somehow I’ve managed to avoid watching a single episode of Love Live. At this point while I’m aware of the existence of multiple series, I don’t actually know anything about what has come before. And that’s totally fine because I still fully comprehend what’s happening in the latest installment of Love Live Sunshine!! Second Season.
