There’s a Japanese term called “shōbu shitagi,” which literally means “combat underwear.” It refers to wearing your best underwear for an important situation. Now you can really, really wear combat underwear.
Japanese online retailer SuperGroupies has begun pre-orders for bra and panty sets based on video game series Street Fighter‘s Chun-Li and Cammy.
The Chun-Li undergarments have panties with a skirt cover. Not only are the undergarments based on Chun-Li’s clothes, but the ribbon accent is based on the ribbons found in the character’s hair. Chun-Li’s undergarments are made with 95% nylon and 5% polyurethane. The Japanese size A65~70, B65~70, C65~70, and E65~70 bras come with medium-sized skirts that will fit 61~67 cm waists. This set will cost 8,800 yen (about US$81).
The Cammy undergarments have a camouflage border, and the bra is printed with the emblem found on her clothes. The red accent is based on her red hat and gloves. The undergarments are made with 95% cotton and 5% polyurethane. This set will come in three sizes: Small, which will fit busts measuring 60~80 cm and waists measuring 55~61 cm, Medium, which will fit busts 64 cm~90 cm and waists 61~67 cm, and Large, which fit busts measuring 68~94 cm and waists measuring 67~73 cm. The set will cost 7,800 yen (about US$72).
Orders for the undergarments will be accepted on SuperGroupies’ website until September 18. The items are scheduled to be delivered to customers sometime in mid-January 2018.
Capcom began the Street Fighter series of video games in 1987. Since then, it has been adapted into into a number of anime, as well as an American live-action film. The latest numbered game in the main series–Street Fighter V–was released in 2016.
