Classic anime Revolutionary Girl Utena about a girl participating in magical duels to protect her beloved companion is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, and lots of goods have been coming out in Japan, including fancy lingerie. This time, you can literally drink your love for the series at this limited-time-only collaboration cafe.

Revolutionary Girl Utena Strips Down with Official Lingerie

The Animate Cafe Shop in Ikebukuro will be collaborating with Revolutionary Girl Utena between August 1 and October 1 to put out delicious drinks and goods. Here’s a look of what’s on the menu:

The “Utena’s Revolutionize the World Drink” is made with cranberry juice and the White Water soft drink to look pink like Utena’s hair and is decorated with a whipped cream white rose and a mint leaf.

The “Anthy’s Rose Bride Drink” is made with sparkling water, violet syrup, and lychee syrup with a tuft of whipped cream and a cookie shaped like the character’s tiara. It is decorated with Utena’s sword.

The “Touga Kiriu’s Playboy Tea” is made of iced tea, stawberry syrup, and chopped strawberries, and is topped with a tuft of whipped cream decorated with gold leaf and a red sugar rose.

The “Miki Kaoru’s Shining Light Drink” is made of apple-flavored drink and blue syrup and topped with a tuft of whipped cream, a cookie shaped like a music note, and a blue sugar rose.

The “Chuchu’s Teatime ~Chocolate Chip Cookie~” drink is a cappuccino topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and a vanilla cookie.

Saionji and Nanami also have drinks at the cafe. All drinks will cost 500 yen (about USD $4) apiece and will come with one of eight illustration coasters distributed at random.

The Animate Cafe will be selling event-only metal pin badges with ten different illustrations. For 300 yen (about USD $2), you can get one of these at random.

This set of three event-only coasters with silhouettes of the characters will cost 1,000 yen (about USD $8).


You can reserve your seat now at the Animate Cafe official website, but you’ll have to know Japanese.

Right Stuf publishes the Revolutionary Girl Utena anime on DVD in North America, while Viz Media publishes the manga. Amazon has the anime available in digital video format for purchase.
