Why I Love It: From the synthesizers to the melody, everything about this song screams “90s”—which is exceedingly fitting for a song called “Boogie Back.”

Anime: My Hero Academia (Season 2)
Song: “Dakara, Hitori ja Nai”
Artist: Little Glee Monster
Why I Love It: Not only is the melody catchy in its own right, but the counterpoint backup singing really sells the song and makes the chorus so much fun.

Artist: SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle & Gemie
Why I Love It: The voices of the two female vocalists go from haunting to powerful in this song that somehow follows its chorus with a second, even more awesome, chorus.

Why I Love It: The verses lure you in with a calm, slow build—and then it hits you with a chorus that really shows of the range of the male vocals.

Song: “Tonari Au”
Artist: THE ORAL CIGARETTES
Why I Love It: The mixture of a fast-paced melody with powerful males vocals and a killer falsetto keeps this one stuck in my head for hours at a time.

Song: “Freesia”
Artist: (K)NoW_NAME:Tachibana Ayaka
Why I Love It: This song has an incredibly fun time playing around with rhythm and syncopation, making it a lot of fun to listen to.

Song: “Moon River”
Artist: fhána
Why I Love It: This calming song really shows off the impressive range of fhána’s voice, and the lyrics illustrate Benten’s viewpoint on the world.

Why I Love It: This one feels like an anime song from the early 2000s and the nostalgia is strong.
