You might not have to wait till January 2018 to see Sakura animated again! The cast of the Cardcaptor Sakura anime announced at the birthday event for heroine Sakura that the Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card sequel manga’s third volume is getting a special bundle that comes with a brand new original anime episode on a DVD as a bonus.

The bundle will be released on September 13 with the special edition third volume sets for the price of 3,480 yen (about USD $31). The episode will connect the original TV anime with the sequel, and is titled Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card-hen Prologue; Sakura to Futatsu no Kuma (Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Arc Prologue: Sakura and the Two Bears). This is a story that connects to the Clear Card Arc.

Sakura obtained both the light and dark cards after facing off against Eriol—the reincarnation of Clow Reed—at Tokyo Tower. Just when Sakura thought her life had returned to normal, it turns out that Eriol will be returning to England… Though a bit sad, Sakura sees him off.

Having been told “I’m in love with you” by Li Shaoran, Sakura doesn’t even understand her own feelings. Tomoyo gently gives her the courage she needs, but before she’s able to get her feelings into order, Sakura finds out that Shaoran will be returning to Hong Kong…!

Having made her mind, Sakura starts making a certain item…

Discotek has re-released the first Cardcaptor Sakura film on DVD and Blu-ray in North America, while NIS America has re-released the TV series on home video. Crunchyroll is streaming the original TV series with subtitles, an the new television anime taking place after the first anime series will premiere in January 2018.
