Founded in 2006 by legendary director, Hideaki Anno, Studio Khara–the animation studio behind the new Rebuild of Evangelion movies–is celebrating its 10th anniversary. To honor the occasion, a special gallery was opened to the public in Harajuku.
Over 300 pieces, from concept art, line drawings, video samples, and models, from various works that Studio Khara has been involved with were put on display, honoring the past decade of achievements.
The new Rebuild of Evangelion movies have become the figurehead of Studio Khara, and a large portion of the gallery was dedicated specifically to images from the three movies that have been released so far. Aside from video content on screens, there was no Evangelion CG work, allowing people to enjoy and appreciate all the work that went into the hand-drawn line-art.
Aside from Eva, line art and backgrounds from the various other anime projects Studio Khara has been involved with as well as models from live-action pieces like God Warrior Appears in Tokyo and Godzilla Resurgence were available for close-up viewing.
The 10th anniversary gallery will be open to the public until November 30th.
