What’s softer than chocobo feathers? Cloud Strife’s hair.
World of Final Fantasy is an upcoming game for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 that turns the beautiful characters of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise into adorable little mascots. Although the series is known for its serious themes and characters, if you get the chance to head over to Shibuya Station in Tokyo, you might find that they’ve become a lot softer than you ever expected… Soft to the touch, that is.
From October 10 to 16, these adorable and padded renditions of everyone’s favorite Final Fantasy characters will be available to touch. First off, there’s Final Fantasy V‘s Bartz (yes, he’s really known in Japan as Butz):
Next is everyone’s favorite sourpuss, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII:
Final Fantasy IX’s Vivi:
Final Fantasy X’s summoner, Yuna:
And finally, Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning:
When the giant fluffy figures are passed by, lines from the voice actors that voice them will automatically play, including Yuna, who says, “When you need summoning power, just call for me.” The main promotional video for the game is also available to watch on multiple screens on each pillar.
If you want to go see these cuties, you can find them inside Shibuya Station near the entrance to the Keio Inokashira Line. Just remember that these are only available till October 16.
Square Enix will release World of Final Fantasy in North America on October 25, Japan on October 27, and Europe on October 28. You can watch the opening anime cinematic above.
