TOHO Animation unveiled the first trailer for Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike on Wednesday. The film adapts the cycling manga series spinoff of the same name by Wataru Watanabe. The video features the film’s theme song, “Hajimari no Hibi” (Beginning Days) by MAGIC OF LIFE.

The film will premiere in theaters in Japan on September 9 and will screen for two weeks only. Part of the film will also adapt author Watanabe’s other manga, Soreike Arakita-kun (That’s the Way, Arakita).
Yowamushi Pedal inspired a television anime in 2013 and a sequel titled Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road began airing in October 2014. A third season is scheduled for January and a live-action TV series adapting the manga will premiere on August 26. Crunchyroll is streaming both the first and second seasons of the anime with English subtitles and Discotek has licensed and released the first season on home video in North America.
