The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Akira Amano’s manga ēlDLIVE opened on Thursday, revealing the series’ first key visual and the anime’s planned premiere in January 2017. Studio Pierrot (Naruto Shippuden, Tokyo Mew Mew) will animate the series.
The story of the original manga (from the author of Reborn!) revolves around Chūta Kokonose, a boy who can hear voices that no one else can. Since it looks like he is talking to himself, the people around him think that he is weird. However, his life takes a turn for the crazy when he is scouted by space police squad ēlDLIVE that keeps the peace in the galaxy and protects those who live in it.
The manga is currently serializing on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online manga website, and Viz Media is running the manga in English in its digital Shōnen Jump magazine.
