The staff of the upcoming Mahō Shōjo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project) anime–an anime about magical girls who fight each other to the death–announced some of the voice talent for the project on Thursday. Manami Numakura of The iDOLM@STER fame and Nao Tōyama–a voice actress known for her roles as Macross Delta‘s Reina and The World God Only Knows‘ Kanon–will lead the cast of the show as Ripple and Snow White, respectively. Ripple is a magical girl dressed like a ninja, while the protagonist, Snow White, is a kind novice magical girl.
Numakura will also be debuting as solo music artist with her song “Sakebe” (Scream) which will serve as the anime’s opening theme song. She will also be making an appearance at the “Animelo Summer Live 2016 –TOKI-” music event in Japan on August 28.
A new key visual featuring more characters has also been unveiled, with the character Snow White featured at the very front:
The anime will premiere in October with Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the order a rabbit?) directing for anime studio Lerche (School-Live!).
The remainder of the staff is as follows:
Series Composition/Scripts: Takao Yoshioka
Character Design: Yukiko Aikei
The Magical Girl Raising Project anime adapts series of light novels written by Asari Endō and illustrated by Maruino in which a select number of girls out of thousands are chosen to become “magical girls” via a smartphone social game. Magical girls have amazing physical and magical powers but, unfortunately, things take a turn for the worst when the admins of the game announce that they have to cut down on magical girls due to a magical energy shortage. The girls fight in horrific battles against each other in order to keep their magical powers.
