Well, it’s finally here: the news we’ve been waiting for. Attack on Titan‘s second season will premiere in spring 2017. Originally announced at an event for the show’s comedy spinoff series, Attack on Titan: Junior High (Shingeki! Kyojin Chūgakkō), and later posted on the official website for the franchise, the announcement was confirmed at the Production I.G. panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on Sunday.

As with the first season–which first premiered in 2013–Wit Studio will provide the animation. For the uninitiated, Wit Studio is kind of like a little brother studio to Production I.G.

The second season to the first television anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) manga was announced in 2014, though it originally had a premiere date of 2016.

The first series was simulcast on Crunchyroll during its broadcast. In addition to also streaming the anime, FUNimation streams the series in North America, and has released the show on home video.
